Prayer

Come!
Let us worship and bow down!
Let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For we are the people of His pasture
And the sheep of His hand.
(Psalms 95:5-7)

The Tabernacle of Moses

In the Old Testament the Temple of the Holy Spirit was built as a Tabernacle according to the plans given to Moses by God himself. The foundations laid, designs followed, and materials used were all specified by God in detail, and the Tabernacle was built according to our Lord's master plan. All the people contributed what they had, in order to finalize God's perfected plan of His dwelling place. Finally, with His grace and guidance, the Tabernacle was completed.

Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glorious presence of the Lord filled it. Moses was no longer able to enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled over it. The Tabernacle was filled with the awesome glory of the Lord, and whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle and moved, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it. But if the cloud stayed, they would stay until it moved again. (Exodus 40:34-37)

The Temple of the Holy Spirit

With the coming of the Lamb of God whom, through His suffering on the cross, took away all the sins of the world, this earthly edifice, the Tabernacle, was replaced by Tents which WE, His people, personify.

Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?
(I Corinthians 3:16)

Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?
(I Corinthians 6:19)

We are now the dwelling place of God and within each and everyone of us, He lives. Just as the Tabernacle had three different and interrelated sections, so too does our physical beings - our mortal bodies.

The outer court or the fence of the Tabernacle can be likened to our muscular and skeletal system. The inner court, shew bread, lampstand and incense are signified by our mind, will, and emotions (our soul). The Most Holy of Holies is our hearts, where the Holy Spirit resides and is in constant commune with our spirits.

Through the Messiah who came on earth, dwelt among us, and died for us, and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, our flesh (body and soul) is being sanctified and purified daily. The presence of God can now be seen and manifested through our witness.

Just as God required precise planning and execution of His outer and inner courts in the old, He is now perfecting all the systems in our own human body.

Make a lampstand of pure, hammered gold. The entire lampstand and its decorations will be one piece - the base, center stem, lamp cups, buds and blossoms.

One blossom will be set beneath each pair of branches where they extend from the center stem. The decorations and branches must all be one piece with the stem, and they must be hammered from pure gold. Then make seven lamps for the lampstand, and set them so they reflect their light forward. The lamp snuffers and trays must also be made of pure gold. You will need seventy-five pounds of pure gold for the lampstand and its accessories.

Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the mountain.
(Exodus 25:31, 35-41)

Just as He made the inner and outer courts of the tabernacle with precise details, He has made each and everyone of our bodies and souls with very precise details for the unique purpose He ordained for each of us from the foundations of the earth. Only we can fulfill the destiny God ordained for each of us, no one can fulfil the destiny of another. We were each specifically made for a unique destiny.

Finally, as in the Most Holy of Holies, we no longer need intercession from high priests, because Jesus Christ is our high priest. Our spirits are completely purified by the baptism of fire as the only dwelling place of His Spirit and Glory.

All glory to God! All glory to our Creator! For with His own hands, His own will, and His own breath, He made us in His image and likeness. The Tabernacle was constructed by men with willing hearts and willing hands, but how greater is our Temple whom God created with His own hands?

The Tabernacle was established as a visible place of worship and in this same thought, we - as His living Temples - are created for worship, to worship God and no one else! We live to exalt God, our Creator!

Expect that everything which transpired in the Old Testament (Tabernacle), will also happen within you, by the Power of the Holy Spirit. You will experience sacrifice, worship, praise, prayer, living water, light and the glory of God as His Spirit inhabits you.

Worship is such a beautiful act. It is an expression of our love to God. We pray that this will help you understand the basic foundation of your creation and to prepare you as we continue our walk with God.

This article is written to help the body of Christ understand the basic foundation of their creation and to prepare the reader as we continue in our study in both the Old Testament and the New Testament worship.

But the time is coming and is already here when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24)
